We are pleased to announce the 4th edition of the i-Bio mini-symposium on October 4,  from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pierre et Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne University (metro Jussieu), focusing on Dynamics of Extra-Cellular Matrix (ECM). This mini-symposium will shed light on the complex biophysical properties of the ECM and their role in the regulation of the cell microenvironment. It will also aim to provide insights into how mechanical forces shape cellular behavior, tissue morphogenesis, and influence development of specific pathologies, following an interdisciplinary perspective, in line with the i-Bio spirit. The presentations will be accessible to a broad audience.
Participation is free but registration is mandatory.

Call for application: Summer school “Concepts and Methods in Mechanobiology” that will be held in Paris, Sorbonne University, June 17-21, 2024.

This summer school, open to PhD students and post-doctoral fellows, aims to give an overview of the current challenges in mechanobiology. The program will be composed of conceptual courses (mornings) by experts of the field and practical workshops (afternoons) presenting cutting-edge experimental methods dedicated to measuring forces and mechanical properties on a variety of biological systems, from bacteria to animal tissues.

Mini-symposium ‘Organoids : Building in vitro models to Understand in Vivo Processes’ 

We are pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the i-Bio mini-symposium on July 5 from 9 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. at the Pierre et Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne University (metro Jussieu), focusing on Organoids. This mini-symposium will aim to demonstrate the importance of building in vitro systems to better understand in vivo processes by sharing novel discoveries made on organoids, following an interdisciplinary perspective, in line with the i-Bio spirit. The presentations will be accessible to a broad audience.
Participation is free but registration is mandatory.

i-Bio is opening a call for 3 post-doctoral fellowships for a duration of 12 to 16 months. The post-doctoral projects should be presented by two teams and address a biological question by integrating conceptual and methodological approaches from other scientific disciplines (computer sciences, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics).

Call for application: Summer school « Advanced Computational Analysis for Behavioral and Neurophysiological Recordings» – Banyuls-sur-Mer, August 6-12, 2023.
This summer school is open to PhD students and post-doctoral fellows in neurosciences who wish to integrate the latest computational methods in their research to analyze neurophysiological and/or behavioral data.

The i-Bio annual meeting for the year 2021-2022 will be held on June 1st at the IBPS. Our various actions will be presented, among others through scientific presentations of some of the multidisciplinary projects supported by i-Bio.
This event will end with a discussion on the future prospects of i-Bio before meeting around a buffet.

A new group leader is supported by i-Bio
Mathieu Hautefeuille research focuses on the development of biomaterial and microfluidics-based technology towards microphysiological systems that aim at recapitulating all the natural properties of native tissues in high-fidelity in vitro models, for fundamental research and to develop diagnosis and therapeutic solutions in medicine.

Jeanne Trinquier, PhD student supported by i-Bio, published her first paper on her thesis work in the journal Nature Communications. The authors propose a new and very efficient computer modeling approach called “generative” which allows to design artificial protein sequences statistically equivalent to natural sequences, a feature of great interest in the field of protein design.
